What do I need to get started with your service?

It is quite easy to get started with Usenetnow.  You need only several things to do so.

1) An active account with us

2) A newsreader

There are many newsreaders out there.  Finding the best one to use can seem difficult, luckily there are many free ones that you can try, to find one that suits your needs.  Below is a list of some of the more common newsreaders.  Please note that this list is not by any means comprehensive, but can be used to point you in the right direction. Usenetnow does not recomend any of these newsreaders over the other.

There are many Usenet and Newsgroup related guides and forums on the web that have a wealth of information (way more than we could put in our FAQ pages!) that will assist you further with setting up your chosen newsreader and getting the most out of your account with us.

Can I share my unlimited account with my friends, family and/or the guy down the street?

The short answer is no.  Our accounts are designed, and priced, for personal use only, from one IP address at any given time.  We believe we offer a great value and in order to do this, we need to enforce this policy.  We hope our customers can understand this decision.

You are allowed to use up to 100 connections to connect to our servers, however most users should not need to use this many.

You have the following port options to connect to our servers:

Standard Non-SSL Connections: Ports 23,119, 2000,8080,9000

SSL Connections: Ports 443, 563, 5563

The addresses for the news server are as follows:

How do I cancel my subscription?

If for some reason you need to cancel your account with us, you must do one of two things.

If you paid by Paypal, log into your paypal account and cancel there. These options will be located under your active subscriptions.

If you paid by credit card directly, you can login to our website and cancel the subscription there.
